CATALAN WAYS
We might interpret this motto as “Catalan styles” or “Catalan paths”, therefore stressing the distinctive trait of our culture while recognising the artistic category of those who have flown beyond the borders of Catalonia.
The aim was to show the quality of Catalan designers around the world and to recognise the merit of professionals doing their work on the international stage, such as Alfons Flores, Franc Aleu and Lluc Castells.
We accompanied the show with acts giving space to dialectics, to reflection and to live arts.
We invited the scenographers Alfons Flores, Franc Aleu and Lluc Castells to share a roundtable with Montse Amenós, scenographer and curator of the national section, to give a live voice to the artists exhibiting in Prague, with the intention of producing a space for dialogue and reflection around their work.
Claudia Schneider, contemporary singer and performer, gave three live performances at the Catalonia national stand with her voice that shook its content and her presence that was momentarily the necessary counterpoint to the visual context we offered.
